Japanese Maple (second attempt)

Still Tuesday. I decided I wanted to try the maple thing again, this time a little more sensory:

Japanese Maple
Leaves of innocent red flame
In giddy springtime

If I went on from there, I’d be thinking about how the leaves darken to a more mature red, then wither, but I suppose that’s beyond the scope of a haiku.

Japanese Maple

I'm going to try to write at least one poem every day. I started on Tuesday, May 19th, 2020, with a (bad) haiku, as follows:

Japanese Maple,
Though far from home and alone,
Still leafs in springtime
